PESONet is a new electronic funds transfer service that enables customers of participating banks, e-money issuers or mobile money operators to transfer funds in Philippine Peso (Php) currency to another customer of other participating banks, e-money issuers, or mobile money operators in the Philippines (https://www.philpayments.org.ph/pesonet).

  • Through PESONet, businesses, governments, and individuals can conveniently pay or transfer funds from their accounts to one or multiple recipient accounts in other financial institutions.

  • PESONet is the perfect alternative to the still widely used paper-based check system.

All Sterling Bank of Asia account holders can use PESONet to transfer funds to participating BSP – supervised banks.

To send money or transfer funds via PESONet, you can do the following options:

  • Go to the nearest Sterling Bank of Asia branch for an over-the-counter transaction
  • Access your Sterling Bank Online - Personal account for online transaction/s

Yes. PESONet facility allows you to send and receive funds to any local bank account. The fund transfer is processed within the day if the transaction was done before the cut-off time.

Any Sterling Bank of Asia Php-denominated deposit account (checking and savings) or ShopNPay prepaid card may be used to transfer funds using PESONet.

RTGS transactions, which focus on high-value remittance, are processed in real-time, while PESONet transactions, which accept any amount, are processed in batches following the PESONet cut-off time.

Any amount is allowed for over-the-counter transactions as long you have available funds in your account. However, sending funds through Sterling Bank Online - Personal account will follow these limits:

  • For PESONet fund transfers from Sterling Bank of Asia checking or savings accounts, the maximum transaction limit depends on the 3rd Party transaction limit set in your Sterling Bank Online – Personal account (up to a maximum of Php500,000) or your account’s available balance.
  •  For PESONet fund transfers from ShopNPay prepaid cards, the default limit of the prepaid card amounting to Php40,000 will be followed as the maximum amount per transaction per day, subject to your card’s available balance.

There are three cut-off times* every banking day for PESONet fund transfers, providing more flexibility and convenience.

Cut-off Schedule:

Cut-off Time (Philippine Time)  Processing Schedule
Before 10:00 am Transaction will be processed not later than 12:00 pm of the same banking day
Before 1:00 pm Transaction will be processed not later than 3:00 pm of the same banking day
Before 4:00 pm Transaction will be processed not later than 11:00 pm of the same banking day
After 4:00 pm, weekend, or holiday Transaction will be processed on the next banking day

*The actual crediting time to the receiver's account is subject to the receiving bank's processing schedule.

The service fee will be charged to the sender per successful transaction and will depend on the channel the PESONet fund transfer will be sent:

  • Over-the-counter through any Sterling Bank of Asia branch – Php30.00
  • Sterling Bank Online - Personal – Php15.00

For the PESONet fund transfer service, you need to have an existing Php-denominated savings or checking account or prepaid card with Sterling Bank of Asia as a source account from which the funds will be deducted.
